Roasted whole chicken

I always want to try whole chicken roasted...finally the day has come.though it was a first try i won it no complaints...simply luved it!! whole chicken can be cooked in different ways.i chose cooking with dried herbs and indian spices.This is the simplest tasty and healthy.hope you too liked it!



Ingredients
Marinating
Whole chicken(3.5lb)
Salt
Red chili powder
Turmeric
Lemon juice
Dried herbs - rosemary,basil,parsley,thymeOil - 2-3tsp


Stuffing
Lemon slices
Onion
Ginger
Garlic 


Procedure
1. Wash the chicken under cold water and remove the skin(choice of urs)dry with kitchen towel.
2. Make a mixture of salt,red chili powder,turmeric pwd,lemon juice,dried herbs and apply on the whole chicken.and marinate for overnight.


3. Stuff the chunks of onion,lemon slices,crushed ginger and garlic and seal with help of toothpicks.


4. Spray oil on tray and make it sit on tray(breast should place on top) and close with aluminium foil.



5. Heat the oven at 375 place the tray on bottom rack.cook for 1hr15mins.
6. Remove the foil we can see the juices from the chicken on the plate remove the juices and add to the top of the chicken.(this makes chicken juice).cook for another 15mins at 375.



7.Cook for 15-20mins at 450deg uncovered.You can enjoy bright crispy chicken.Now total cooking time is 1hr45mins.


Cutting method
First cut the legs,wings then cut the breast into slices.
