Roasted Chicken/tandoori chicken using oven whatever be the name the chicken marinated with all the spices,yogurt and herbs gives a wonderful flavor.I am a lover of chicken.I feel this is the best way of eating chicken which is Quick,easy to make and healthy way too.I learnt this recipe from vahrehvah is an  inspiring cook for most of them.


I love the combination of majiga pulusu(sour butter milk) and roasted chicken with rice makes perfect meal.

Ingredients
Chicken Drumsticks
Coriander leaves
For Marinating
Salt 
Red chilli powder - 1tsp
Turmeric - 1/4tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
Green chillies - 4
lemon juice - 1tsp
Garam masala powder - 1tsp
Oil - 1tspn
Curd/yogurt (beaten) 
mint leaves - optional

Procedure
1.Wash the chicken and drain the water completely.

2.Put gashes(long deep cut) on the flesh of the drumstick.just run the knife wherever you find thick meat.For each drumstick you may find 2-3 places to cut.

3.Mix salt,red chili powder , lemon juice and apply on the cuts of the meat.as  shown above.

4. To this chicken add all the ingredients under marinating.Marinate for overnight.

5.Place all the drumsticks on oven tray with aluminium foil covered or you can use outer cabbage leaves.I usually save the outer leaves of cabbage.

6.Place the tray in the lower rack.

7.Cook in the oven in 450/500 highest depends on your oven,for 15min-20min 

8.Turn to other side and cook for other 15min-20min

The chicken is nicely cooked.You can serve this way or heat tawa spray 1/2tsp oil fry for 1-2min sprinkle garam masala for spiciness.

Your yummy yummy roasted chicken is ready to serve.
  • If you want the nice thick restaurant color you can use red food color.
