chikudukayalu(broad beans)-1lb
oil-3 spoons
garlic pods-2
urad dal-1spoonbengal gram-1 spoon
mustard seeds-1/2 spoon
red chilli-2
hing
curry leaves
dry coconut powder
green chillies-4
salt
Procedure
1.cut the beans(chikudukayalu) into 1/2 pices and boil them with water and pinch of salt.finally drain themand put aside.
2.Take one wide pan and add 3 spoon oil after heating add garlic pods(try to add crushed one it gives more flavour),urad dal, bengal gram, mudstard seeds, red chillis, curry leaves, pinch of hing and fry them for 2 mins
3.Add the boiled and drained chikudukaya beans to the tempering and fry it.In the time of frying meanwhile make a powder of coconut and green chillies by blending them together in a blender.
4.After frying for some time looses complete moisture and becomes dry then add this powder and salt to the beans and fry for 5-7min and switch of the stove.
5.Finally your yummy yummy chikudukaya fry with coconut powder is ready to serve with rice.
- If the water left much (approximate 1cup or more),after draining the beans i advice not to throw the water.you can make rasam out of it by adding some more water, salt, turmeric, small tamarind, red chilli powder, ajwain, some mint leaves finally tempering.
- I feel by doing this we cannot loose any vitamins and proteins from the vegetable and can have other dish too :)
Looks Nice Souji. Never tried Coconut and Green Chili Powder, will give it a try for sure. Thanks for Sharing.
