Tomato Paratha

Tomato paratha is another different kind of spicy and tasty paratha.It is served perfect with raitas.Easy and quick to prepare.




Ingredients
Tomatoes - 3(ripe)
Green chilies - 2(adjust)
Garlic pods - 1big or 2 small       
Cumin seeds - 1/2tsp
Turmeric - 1/4tsp
Whole wheat - 2cups
Salt
Oil - 1tsp
Butter 


Procedure
1. Take  a pan add oil after heating,add chopped garlic,green chilies and saute them for a while.


2. Add the chopped tomatoes,salt,turmeric powder and cook for 5-7min with lid.Stir in between and cook until it absorbs all the water and becomes mushy.Set aside and let it cool.




3. Take a bowl add whole wheat,tomato paste and make a dough.(usually you don't require water but you can add water to make a soft dough).as shown.Let it rest for 10mins to make soft chapathis.



4. Make small balls, dip each one into dry whole wheat flour, and roll out into thin circles.


5. Place a flat, griddle on the stove at medium. When hot, place a rolled-out chapati  on the griddle.  cook until tiny brown spots appear.apply butter and serve.



Your hot hot tomato paratha is ready to serve with any raita and pickle.

  • Left over dough can be refrigerated in air tight container or simply wrap with a plastic wrap and use next day.
  • The tomato paste can be prepared in bulk and stored in a refrigerator and use later when required.
